Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates’ use of physical models to design, develop and realistically present buildings predated computational formatting and renderings by decades. Even when such technology became available, Kevin continued to pursue design in the manner he always had using models to begin and end with form. The practice dates back to his time in Eero Saarinen’s office when he convinced Eero that the only way to study the development of the TWA building was with models. The furnishings here are from some of the many interior models developed to study various office layouts. The interior models were richly detailed and photographed to include in client presentations. Photos of the interiors can be found in the collection.
